Surviving the current weather

Luckily our area and surrounds have not been directly hit by the recent devastating bushfires. Our hearts go out to those whose lives have been significantly impacted and our thoughts are with you.

For those who are likely to suffer from respiratory illness due to the current smokey air, please take precautions. For example, stay indoors and refrain from going outside unless necessary, turn your air conditioning onto recycling mode rather than drawing air from outside, limit physical exertion and have your medical treatment plan ready.

Summer is not over and we can expect hot conditions to return. Know what to do in advance of a heatwave and prepare. Make sure that you stay hydrated and protected from the sun. Wear sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and look for shade.

See your doctor immediately if you develop respiratory or heat related symptoms such as: difficulty in breathing, wheezing, coughing, severe headache, rapid pulse, nausea & vomiting, dizziness or light-headedness.
