Dr Chiharu Yamano was born in Japan and emigrated to Australia with her family when she was 4 years old. Chiharu attended Monash University for her medical degree, part of which was completed in the East Gippsland region. She then went on to work at Monash Health.
Chiharu says she’s always wanted to go into general practice so is excited to be at Carrum Downs Medical Centre to continue her further GP training. Outside of medicine she loves to go hiking, travelling (an interest that has taken a hard hit with covid), and reading. This year Chiharu hopes to get a dog to go on hiking adventures with!
