Sharon Lewis

Sharon has recently started working at Carrum Downs Medical Centre and was born and bred in Melbourne and married with 5 children. She is a registered nurse and Credentialed Diabetes Educator with over 25 years of experience.  Sharon is also a Reiki Practitioner at Master level and currently studying Function Nutrition. Sharon believes in a holistic approach to Diabetes and chronic disease support and management. Sharon has lived with Type 1 Diabetes for over 45 years and understands the challenges Diabetes can bring. With her experience and knowledge, she brings an approach of caring and support to help people learn to live a life of wellness with Diabetes. She loves spending time with her family and friends and has a passion for exercise and loves hiking, Zumba, boxing, and being in the great outdoors. Her other passion is spending time in her organic veggie patch and having fun cooking with her produce. Learning how nutrient dense foods can support good health is a new experience and she loves sharing this knowledge.

  • Specializing in Type 1 and 2 Diabetes
  • Insulin pump therapy, initiation, and ongoing support
  • Continual Glucose monitoring systems and flash glucose monitoring
  • Insulin and injectable initiation
  • Can provided NDSS and government subsidy registration
  • Provides group education and is a DAFNE facilitator
  • Support with carbohydrate counting and nutritional information
  • Can provide free equipment, blood glucose monitors, diaries, and injectable equipment
