Carrum Downs Medical Centre was established on 17th January 1990. One of the founding general practitioners, remembers the day that the practice opened, with two doctors and one staff member. They really hit the ground running opening 7 days a week. She says the area was mostly surrounded by market gardens, bush and rabbits! Since then the practice has gone from strength to strength with the addition of a further 6 partners and a number of other doctors, currently standing at 12 general practitioners in total, 5 allied health professionals and 18 staff. We have been a training practice for registrars for over 10 years with a number of those trainee doctors staying on because they loved the Carrum Downs area and its’ community spirit.
With the explosion of population and businesses over recent years, the practice has had a number of locations resulting in a state-of-the-art purpose built facility at 113a Hall Road. We are located within a health precinct consisting of pharmacy, physiotherapy, dental, xray, radiology and much more. There is also plenty of off street parking.
Our modern treatment room, staffed by friendly qualified nurses, can manage critical responses in a timely manner as well as routine day to day procedures with care and absolute skill and empathy. Of course, first contact is usually with our talented super receptionists. They can make your contact with the clinic seamless and direct any enquiry with a minimum of fuss. We are very proud of our team!
Our mission is to provide the individuals and families of the community of Carrum Downs and surrounding areas with comprehensive high quality family medical care.
