Chia Lern, who is a partner at Carrum Downs Medical Centre, was born in Malaysia and came to Australia to commence secondary school, which he completed at Wesley College. He loved swimming and thought he was a champion with a future, only to have those dreams come crushing down when he never won any race. He is married with two children who have both followed him into medicine. Chia Lern loves to go cycling and chooses travel destinations based on the best opportunities for bike rides. In a recent cycling tour to Slovenia and Czechoslovakia he experienced amazing vistas of the country side but not so amazing torrential rain. He enjoys general practice and has a particular interest in paediatrics.
